Colonel Jonathan M. Creer is the Commander of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 855, who administers and provides a colledge-level officer training program for Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. Colonel Creer is responsible to the Universities and AFROTC for recruiting, training, motivating, and educating Air Force officer candidates. He instructs courses in leadership, national security, and air power history. He is responsible for selecting and training candidates who will commission as Second Lieutenants in the United States Air Force and Space Force.

Colonel Creer entered the Air Force in 1997 as an ROTC Distinguished Graduate with a degree in International Relations. He holds advanced degrees in Military Strategy from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, Air University, and National Security and Resource Strategy from The Eisenhower School, National Defense University. Colonel Creer is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School and served as Squadron and Wing Weapons Officer while assigned to 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth AFB, SD. During his career, Colonel Creer completed multiple combat deployments supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as well as deployments supporting Continuous Bomber Presence missions in the INDOPACOM AOR.

In 2009, Colonel Creer was selected as an Air Force Chief of Staff Embassy Fellow and served at U.S. Embassy Beijing, China. He served in staff assignments as Chief, Strategy Plans, 603rd Air Operations Center, U.S. Air Forces Europe and AFRICA; Branch Chief, Theater and NATO Campaign Plans, U.S. European Command J5/8; as Division Chief, Missile Defense and Space Division, J5/8 Directorate, U.S. European Command and Division Chief, Multinational Coordination Center, J5, U.S. Africa Command.
