Captain Julianne M. Thompson

 
 

Capt Julianne M. Thompson is the Education Flight Commander for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 855, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. She is responsible for the training and equipping of 150 officer candidates. Additionally, she fulfills the role of Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, instructing cadets.

Capt Thompson is a 2010 graduate of the Air Force ROTC program from Brigham Young University. Upon commissioning she attended Initial Skills Training at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Upon completion of training she was assigned to the 740th Missile Squadron at Minot AFB, N.D. where she served as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Deputy Combat Crew Commander on the Minuteman III missile before becoming a Missile Combat Crew Commander. Capt. Thompson transitioned to the 742d Missile Squadron, Minot AFB, N.D. where she served as a ICBM Combat Crew Commander and ICBM Assistant Flight Commander. Prior to her current position she was an ICBM Combat Crew Flight Commander. As a flight commander she was responsible for 25 personnel and scheduling 24/7 nuclear operations for five launch control centers.
